April 18th Field Trip to Harpeth River State Park-Gossett Tract (Cheatham Co.) – 7:00 am

Loading Events

Join NTOS for a spring field trip to the Gossett Tract of Harpeth River State Park (1230 Cedar Hill Rd, Kingston Springs, TN 37082), a scenic riverside property in Kingston Springs. This tract features a mix of open fields, riparian habitat along the Harpeth River, and wooded edges making it an excellent spot to look for early spring migrants as well as resident species. The river corridor can be especially productive for swallows, warblers, vireos, and flycatchers, while the fields may host sparrows and other grassland birds.

We’ll begin at 7:00 a.m. and take an approximately 2-mile walk along the gravel and natural-surface pathways. The terrain is relatively flat and open, offering wide views of the surrounding habitat.

Bring water, binoculars, and dress for the weather. We hope you’ll join us for a beautiful spring morning along the Harpeth!
